If you frequently drive in unfamiliar territory or simply hate straining to see street signs, then a navigation system might be a worthwhile investment.

Navigation devices, not to long ago called global positioning satellite (GPS) navigation systems allow a laymen to enter an address and get turn-by-turn directions to your destination. The amazing part is that the directions are provided both visually and audibly.

Now with that said many people as if it’s better to get a GPS navigation device pre-installed in a new vehicle directly integrated into the dashboard, or to buy one a portable navigation devices that do virtually everything the built-in ones do, at a lower price.

The problem with pre-installed GPS navigation car navigation systems are outdated as soon they are installed, longevity is actually a downside. Portable devices don’t have this problem because they only take about a year to go from concept to production. Owners with built-in nav units are stuck with the same one for the life of their vehicle, whereas people who buy portable GPS navigator can upgrade to newer models as soon as they come out.

The design timeline for cars is close to four years. The GPS navigator installed may use the latest and greatest technology, but it was the latest and greatest four years ago.

Nearly 14 million portable GPS navigation systems were sold in 2006, compared to about 4 million in-dash units. The overwhelming popularity of portable navigation devices is due primarily to the fact that they’re significantly less expensive than the integrated pre-installed kinds.

The GPS systems that car manufacturers install at the factory typically start at around $1,500 to $2,000 and increasingly come bundled with other expensive options like back-up cameras and radar-based cruise control that can send prices skyrocketing.

Massive traffic jams, job loss, economic collapse in the home foreclosure industry all just a few of the reasons people are going crazy on the road and causing accidents. Also the dire predictions for the End-Of-Days coming in the year 2012 are making people go crazy on the road.

Some attribute the rise in rage incidents to the recession and social and economic frustration.

Road rage can involve deliberately hitting another person, vehicle or object with his/her own vehicle and/or firing a weapon from it. Other possibilities include hitting the person or vehicle with an item which is not his vehicle, but which ultimately hits another person or vehicle.

Environmental conditions are the main factors associated with road rage. These conditions can consist of traffic congestion, another’s dangerous driving habits, the weather (heat, humidity, etc.), noise levels, and time constraints. The latest mass home foreclosures going on all around the country are also leading to increased cases of road rage, endangering the safety of safe drivers and citizens alike.

The other two causes of road rage, instructive responses and territorial defensiveness are also closely related. Intrusive responses are actions of retaliation to get back at another for their careless driving. Territorial defensiveness is the act of defending ones personal space (the car) in response to another individuals driving.

Road rage is a relatively serious act; it may be seen as a violation of property rights and an endangerment of personal security.

Incidents of violent road behavior in the U.S. has increased dramatically since 1966 and it’s a situation to be taken seriously. The incidents that trigger a Mad Max syndrome in the average driver are usually simple matters of discourtesy-for example, loud music, over-use of the horn, tailgating and changing lanes without signaling. These, of course, are usually just the trigger points.

The actual causes can be traced back to all forms of stress, from being called into the boss’s office for a friendly chat, to having just been dumped by your girlfriend. Pretty much, road warriors are the result of a flashpoint of all the accumulated stresses in one’s life.

All drivers are entitled to a clear objective record of what happens on the road. We recognize that traffic safety cameras are good for society. They educate drivers and provide a clear understanding of why accidents occur. They provide objective records for insurance/legal purposes and help prevent drivers from repeating mistakes. We believe that over the long run they will help to reduce accidents.

Accidents can happen at any time, without notice. As is often the case after an accident, we are disoriented and don’t always remember everything just prior to the impact. Most all hidden cameras and spy cameras today still operate on the 2.4 GHz frequency range and many times there is interference from other devices like wireless Internet routers that can make it a headache trying to get them to work properly. This article explores a few different ways to get around the frequency interference issue. First, we explain some basic information about what you need to under stand first.

What is a 2.4 GHz wireless frequency? - A frequency is used to transmit a signal or data like video. 2.4GHz is the specific wireless frequency that our transmitters use to send video signal to a receiver. All of our wireless cameras operate on the 2.4 GHz frequency. Range varies from 200′ to 700′ depending on environmental conditions.

Will a cordless phone interfere with wireless cameras? – Cordless phone that operate on the 2.4 GHz frequency will cause interference with 2.4 GHz cameras. Interference should be minimal and usually occurs if the phone is between the camera and receiver.

How far can a wireless hidden camera transmit? – Standard wireless hidden cameras can transmit up to 1000 feet and high-powered wireless hidden cameras can transmit up to 2000 feet.

Transmission range is the same for both 2.4 & the new 5.8 GHz frequencies as shown below.

2.4 GHz w/spread spectrum – 300 to 2000 feet
5.8 GHz w/spread spectrum – 300 to 2000 feet

Are the new 5.8 GHz spy camera/hidden cameras better than 2.4 GHz models? Or is this just the latest marketing scheme?

Why higher frequencies can be better?
Many people think that just because a spy camera or hidden camera uses a higher frequency its range will be better. In reality, the physics of wireless technology is a little more complicated. There are 3 main factors that affect the quality and strength of a hidden camera signal: traffic, how the frequency handles obstructions, and output wattage.

Using a specific range of frequencies assigned by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), spy cameras send and receive surveillance audio and video with technology similar to that of an FM radio. Unfortunately, many other devices—including cellular phones, ham radios, wireless routers, walkie-talkies, baby monitors, and pagers—are also constantly transmitting wireless signals in the air around you. When any of these devices uses the same frequency or bandwidth as your phone, interference is created.

This is where the FCC plays an important role. In order to prevent interference, the FCC determines which devices are allowed to transmit within specific ranges. When a range reaches its traffic capacity, the FCC will usually open up another range of frequencies for use.

In case you have been living in a cave, the reality is that the baby boomer generation is surging toward retirement age and the fact that there is a growing need to find a bigger work force to tend to the millions of boomers who will in the not too distant future need ongoing care due to age, illness or a combination of both. Baby Boomers will be facing a whole host of physical and mental frailties.

There will be huge increase in America’s elderly population in the next few decades. The labor pool that has traditionally cared for these people made up mainly of woman from their mid-20s to mid-50s will hardly grow at all which will compound the problem of an existing work force that is earning low wages and has a high turnover rate.

Statistics prove that nearly 3 million people work in direct-care jobs who work mainly with the elderly as nursing assistants, home health aids and personal care aids.

Leading experts say that 1 million more health care workers will be needed in the next decade. And it gets worse. 3 million more workers will be needed by 2030 when all surviving members of the 78 million strong baby boomer generation will be older than 65!

Wages for direct-care workers as of 2005 averaged less than $10.00/hr. and one quarter or these workers have no health insurance! To make matters worse the Supreme Court as of summer 2007 ruled unanimously that the nation’s 1 million home-care workers are NOT entitled to overtime pay under federal law. This is a ticking time bomb for the millions of senior baby boomers who want to live at home instead of institutions.

Direct-care workers will be desperately sought after and with those low wages, many undesirable people will be hired like ex-criminals, thieves, etc. Baby Boomers will be robbed blind of their money and possessions as direct-care workers look at baby boomers as the haves and themselves as the have not’s. Not only that but the boomers will not get the care needed to keep them alive.

Many families are now suspecting elder and baby boomer abuse and turning to technology that will aid them in making sure their loved one(s) are being cared for properly by direct-care workers. But most are not.

Nanny Cameras now called Granny Cams or Hidden Cams are getting more and more sophisticated in catching nursing home abuse. Once the evidence is collected the authorities can be alerted and the workers sent to jail or imprisoned.

How Do “Voice Changers” Work?
