Jaycee Dugard was last seen as she was walking to a bus stop in South Lake Tahoe. She was trying to catch her school bus.
Jaycee Dugard , who spent 18 years in captivity, is finally speaking out about her ordeal in the pages of People Magazine . The mag, which hits newsstands on Friday, also features the first adult photo of Jaycee Dugard released since she was found. Jaycee’s family has prayed for her return.
They have held vigils and begged for help from the community. Jaycee Lee Dugard and her two children were rescued 18 years after she was kidnapped in South Lake Tahoe at age 11. During the 18 year period her alleged kidnapper, Phillip Garrido fathered her two children, now aged 11 and 15.
Perhaps the death penalty does not apply in kidnapping and rape – although that can take someone’s quality of life away like it did for the victim, but, Phillip and Nancy Garrido took 18 years of this girls life.
Children under the age of 6 are primarily targets of family kidnapping, which peaks at about age 2 and declines thereafter. The risk of kidnapping by a stranger is comparatively low for preschoolers but rises throughout the elementary school years and reaches its peak around age 15. Children of middle-class or upper-class Mexicans, yet the problem does span all socio-economic levels, are too often stolen away from their families and homes. Kidnappers can work in sophisticated groups, following family members to learn routines or working with the help of hired domestic employees. Children should make a deal with their parents that they’d never call from an ATM. If they do, it’s likely they’re in a heist — and the red flag has been raised.

Jaycee Duggard’s kidnapping/rape, is by no means a story that one, especially a news reporter, should poke fun at. Shame on the BBC and this dippy reporter! Jaycee and these two children had virtually no life they could call their own. Their world was the secluded quarters of a cloistered backyard.
Jaycee Duggard was held hostage more than 1,000 times as long as the Stockholm bank employees. She was alone much of that time, not part of a group. Jaycee Duggard’s road back depends upon the minds agility, too.
Because now she must see that she was in danger from predators who posed as her saviors. Jaycee Duggard was 11 years old when she was snatched off the street by two people in a car near her home in South Lake Tahoe in full view of her step-father in 1991. She had been kept in backyard sheds at the house of her kidnappers for 18 years and is the mother of two girls, 15 and 11, fathered by Philipp Garrido, a convicted and listed sex-offender, who kidnapped her with his wife.
There are and will be many more Jaycee Duggard’s as our world explodes in violence as we reach the apocalypse in 2012.

Cell phone tracking is neither good nor bad. It is just one tool in the toolbox for parents. Cell phone tracking is more usable from afar. Perhaps people don’t mind being located in proximity to a cell tower (presuming no GPS enabling, which if they’ve done, I presume they don’t mind more specific tracking). Cell phone tracking is used to solve more routine crimes like car theft which has never reported outside the local papers.
If you’ve heard of free cell phone tracking available on the Internet, think again. GPS cell phone tracking is growing in popularity among consumers. As the cell phone technology improves, people are realizing just what they can do with their phones and GPS cell phone tracking has become quite popular. GPS tracking is probably never going to be free in my lifetime. There are too many powers that be that have a vested interest in making me pay for this type of information. GPS phones work very well for turn-by-turn directions on highways, roads, and cities wherever you get coverage and in some cases, just by satellite. They work just as well as a dedicated GPS for this purpose offering voice commands and visual mapping on the screen.
Mobile phone tracking software is one of the surest ways for tracking lost cell phones. Users simply have to subscribe for the software and acquire a license from the preferred company and install the software in their cellular phones. Mobile cell phone theft is on the rise like nothing else and it did not need to have a rocket scientist to oversee at the launch of this technology that cell phones will be prone to theft like never before. Just as the name suggests cell phones are mobile, small in size and portable. Mobile applications will play a large role as well. Interoperability of systems will continue to be a big focus, especially in areas such as emergency management.
Parents should be able to trust their kids enough to not spy on them. They probably already have an idea of where their children are; they don’t need to track everything. Parents can use them to monitor their children, friends use them to keep up with one another’s hangouts, and travelers use them to find local information and directions wherever they are. These and yet-unimagined uses are only going to become more commonplace, as products such as Apple’s iPhone 3G and T-Mobile’s G1 bring cell phone GPS tracking and applications into more and more people’s pockets. Parents can keep a watch on their children’s habits through cell phone tracking. Investigation agencies too monitor known criminals.

Domestic violence is essentially about power and control in relationships. By definition, mutual battering does not exist. Domestic violence is not reported very well and is therefore hard to measure. But based on surveys from shelters and so forth, the US may have less battering than some other nations around the world. Domestic violence is perpetrated regardless of age, income, education, religion, sexual orientation, culture or race.
Domestic violence is a common reality in our society. It occurs in all social classes, ethnic groups, cultures and religions. Domestic violence is a significant problem in the United States. Between 1989 and 2004, 21,124 women died at the hands of an intimate; 8,997 men died in domestic violence during the same time period. Because the U.S. Domestic violence is not an isolated, individual event, but rather a pattern of repeated behaviors. Unlike stranger-to-stranger violence, in domestic violence the assaults are repeated against the same victim by the same perpetrator.
Domestic violence is control by one partner over another in a dating, marital or live-in relationship. Domestic violence occurs in every culture, country and age group. Domestic violence is a pattern of abusive and threatening behaviors that may include physical, emotional, economic and sexual violence as well as intimidation, isolation and coercion.
The purpose of domestic violence is to establish and exert power and control over another; men most often use it against their intimate partners, such as current or former spouses, girlfriends, or dating partners.
Domestic Violence is any pattern of behavior within an intimate relationship used by one partner to coerce, dominate or isolate another person, or the exertion of any form of power that maintains control in an intimate relationship. Domestic violence may include but is not limited to emotional, psychological, physical, economic, sexual abuse and social isolation.
Domestic violence is also called family violence. It involves intentional repeated acts which cause physical or emotional harm committed most usually by an intimate partner – it is any forceful behavior used to coerce another person into doing what the perpetrator wants done without regard for the victims rights, feelings or well-being. Domestic violence is a serious problem. It is a common cause of injury. Domestic violence is not a mistake. It’s a revealing.
Domestic violence is any criminal offense involving violence or physical harm or threat of violence or physical harm when committed by one cohabitant against another. Domestic violence is against the law.
Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women between the ages of 15 and 44 in our country, and the FBI estimates that a woman is beaten every 15 seconds. Thirty percent of female homicide victims are killed by partners or ex-partners and 1,500 women are murdered as a result of domestic violence each year in the United States.
Domestic violence is a pattern of abusive behavior that occurs between individuals in intimate relationships. While domestic violence is typically associated with those who are married or dating, domestic violence may also occur between family members who reside together in the same household.
Abuse or domestic violence is when one parent bullies or frightens the other parent so they don’t feel like they can say or do what they want to. Most often (but not always) it’s the male parent who is abusive. Abused women have a 60 percent higher rate of neurological, gynecological and stress-related problems compared to women who have never been abused, according to Kaiser Permanente.
Women, by 72 percent, think this is at least a very serious problem, while just over half (54%) of men agree. Not surprisingly, among victims of domestic violence, the number jumps to 84 percent. Women are ten times more likely to be victimized by an intimate partner than men. Approximately two million women in America are victims of domestic violence every year.
Children who grow up in abusive homes are more likely to become abusers or be abused themselves. A boy who grows up with a father who beats his mother tends to see women as weak and submissive and repeat the cycle of abuse in his own relationships. Child abuse and neglect, and other forms of domestic violence affects all races, ages, religions, socio economic backgrounds and education levels. Fathers who play a positive and involved role in their children’s life have been shown to reduce a child’s risk of suffering from abuse and neglect. Children who grow up in abusive homes are more likely to be abused and have behavioral problems than are other children. As adults, they’re more likely to become abusers or think abuse is a normal part of a relationship.

Neighbors say he is taking out his frustrations. It went from dumping boxes of junk into the backyard, to ripping cabinets off the walls. It’s happening all over the USA, especially in Phoenix Arizona where foreclosures are rampant!
The video at this link will show what people are stripping their beloved homes bare just before they leave their foreclosed upon homes, http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/video/default-ap.aspx?cp-documentid=37415769-9c01-479e-9902-f9a0cf60b663. And it’s no laughing matter since not only police but the FBI is getting called upon to find and procecute the people doing this.
Banks will require them to wait longer before applying to refinance. Also, the homeowners in our example destroyed their net worth on legal title basis. Banks do not often pay for pest reports, repairs or home warranty plans. Banks and mortgage companies tend not to go after the owners who vandalize because the cost outweighs the benefits. Therefore, with no consequences, half of those who have to leave trash their homes.
Lincoln, who is based in Ahwatukee Foothills but represents properties all over town, said the problem is most widespread in Valley neighborhoods that were built during the housing boom a few years ago. While some homes are stripped by cash-strapped former owners, others are targeted by strangers. Lincoln said one of his clients purchased a bank-owned house in Tolleson. Before it closed, thieves posing as pest-control workers broke in and removed $4,000 in appliances!
Homeowners caught in the act may be subject to criminal prosecution, including damage and defrauding a secured creditor. Authorities must be able to prove that is was the homeowner that stripped the home of valuables, and that the person knew it was illegal to do so. Homeowners would default on mortgages while losses on mortgage-backed securities would drain retirement savings from 401(k)s and pension plans. Taxpayers would ultimately be hit with a large bill.
In addition, police tracked down teenagers who told them what happened but denied being involved. There have been no arrests. Police agencies around the country report that buildings abandoned after foreclosure are contributing to higher property crime rates. Since those properties ?are often vandalized for any items of value, inhabited by squatters, or used for the manufacture of drugs, the slum-like conditions spark a downward spiral that radiates throughout the community, even in the most upscale areas. Police across the country have noted an uptick in illegal parties at foreclosed homes.

It’s a sign of a real bad economy. Gov. Pat Quinn is planning to release 1,000 inmates from prisons across Illinois the next several months in an effort to save money. Corrections spokeswoman Januari Smith said the bulk of those to be released and placed on supervised parole will be drug and property crime offenders.
They will be wearing electronic monitoring devices but they are not GPS equipped, because the state can’t afford expensive the GPS equipped devices. The reality of the situation is EVERYONE should be outraged that the State of Illinois would authorize this. And this is just the beginning. States all across the nation and looking to trim expenses and lower the deficit and this to politician looks like a sure way to delimitate expenses.
The problem is, we will all pay for this. More crime, more vandalism, etc! They will all be dispersed into peaceful neighborhoods like yours.
High crime neighborhoods in Chicago will become even more unlivable. And the entire city will become a little more dangerous. Drug pushers, thieves and burglars will cause increased violence. Would you want your wife, parents, or children to be home when one of Quinn’s Cons comes through the window looking for a TV or computer to steal?

Alzheimer’s patients often have spatial/visual problems which may be affected by confusing designs on the floor. One common problem these patients also have is while walking from room to room, they may become confused if the flooring changes from carpeting to linoleum or vice versa, and they may be afraid of taking a step.
Alzheimer’s patients tend to wander off as the disease progresses. They are going home usually, which could be a place they lived in 50 years ago or more. Alzheimer’s patients who can no longer be cared for at home are routinely given drugs to keep them quiet and passive once they go into institutions. I saw myself how my late stepfather turned into a zombie-like figure after such treatment, which was administered because the unit he was in was seriously short of staff and funds, and they saw this poisoning of patients as the only way they could manage.
Caregivers for Alzheimer’s patients must deal with not only the cognitive decline of their loved ones but also the behavioral and psychiatric problems that arise as a result of the disease, such as agitation, aggression and psychosis. It is important to remember, however, that while Alzheimer and agitation are often linked, disturbing behavioral symptoms can often be alleviated without medication or institutionalization.
Caregivers’ mean-centered baseline depression scores and gender were included as covariate’s in the model to equalize rates at baseline. The best-fitting longitudinal change pattern was selected for the first year (logarithmic model) and follow-up years (linear model) (Mittelman et al. Caregivers are scarcer to come by than before, since previously the tight-knit family unit would take care of its own. Due to the trends of sprawling cities and job opportunities in distant locations, the young and restless have moved on, leaving behind the elderly.

Cameras can be used to monitor activities such as boarding and exiting, and act as a deterrent against violence and vandalism. In addition, video monitoring can provide a means to assess a driver’s ability and safety risk, as well detect the violations of other driver’s around the bus itself.
Cameras in the bus are positioned to capture video of the driver, stairwell, and students. Additional cameras for other areas of the bus, even outside the bus to capture images of automobiles passing a stopped school bus, are possible configurations.
Video surveillance as a preventative measure on school buses has been shown to enhance the management of problem behavior on the buses, and the immediate video feedback helps school administrators confront the individuals involved soon after incidents occur.

Jaycee Lee Dugard went missing in 1991, when she was only 11 years old. On August 26, a woman went to the Contra Costa County to claim she was Jaycee Lee Dugard, the missing girl from way back in 1991. Jaycee Lee Dugard is now 29 and has two children. Her parents are on their way to confirm identification.
Child abduction is committed when a person is taken, held or detained against their will and moved to another location by use of physical force or fear. The crime of kidnapping often is involved with Internet crimes , sex crimes and other violent crimes.
Children are literally ripped from their homes and life as they know it only to be taken on some terrifying adventure with, many times, a complete stranger. The trauma of kidnapping victims needs to be redeemed by way of the criminal justice system.
Child abduction and Kidnapping is defined as taking, holding or restraining a person against their will and moving them to another location against their will. Kidnapping is done using fear or force or threats of force to keep the individual someplace against their will. Kidnapping is a serious felony crime that can quickly lead to lengthy investigations, rigorous questioning, and negative, life-altering repercussions if convicted.
Jaycee Lee Dugard’s abductor, Garrido was only caught when he attempted, ironically, to hand out religious literature at UC Berkeley accompanied by the two daughters with which he impregnated Dugard through repeated rapes while she was in captivity. Police thought his behavior towards the daughters he’d obtained through repeatedly raping their still-imprisoned mother was odd, and ran a background check, thereby discovering his lifetime probation (undoubtedly prohibiting him from contact with children) and placing him under arrest. Garrido kept his criminal past secret from those around him. That past included a federal prison stint for a kidnapping conviction in the 1970s. Garrido had renamed to Jaycee as “Allissa” and he is a father of two children. Jaycees’ mother Terry Probyn told that her daughter had been held against her will all these years and confined in a box in the back of the Garrido’s house to ABC News.
Child abduction and Kidnapping is a felony criminal offense that can be tried at both the state and federal level. This means a kidnapping conviction is likely to result in long prison sentences, probation, large fines, loss of custodial rights and much more. Kidnapping is kidnapping, marriage does not make it better, it makes it permanent. It is a violation of human rights pure and simple. Kidnapping is categorized as a violent crime. A violent crime is a criminal act involving the threat or use of force/violence.
Garrido, a registered sex offender, had been brought in for questioning because someone reported suspicious activity involving him and the two children the day before at the U-C Berkeley campus. It turns out the two children were Jaycee’s. Garrido was charged with kidnapping, conspiracy, rape and committing lewd acts with a minor, according to the records. Nancy Garrido is accused of kidnapping and conspiracy.
In the United States alone over 260,000 children are kidnapped each year by family abductions or stranger abductions. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) estimates that 200,000 minors are kidnapped ever year by a family member in the United States.
Child abduction and Kidnapping is a felony and carries serious consequences. An experienced state or federal criminal defense specialist can help explain your defenses and options. Kidnapping is used to describe the crime of forcibly abducting a person and holding him/her against his/her will. Common types of kidnapping are: aggravated kidnapping, child kidnapping, kidnapping for ransom, parental kidnapping and simple kidnapping.

Private investigators are self-employed, awarding them the flexibility to choose their own clients and set their own rates but also the responsibility of publicizing their business and obtaining a steady work flow.
Private investigators are highly regulated by law enforcement and subject to police and FBI background checks. Many come into the profession after having served with honor and distinction as highly-trained law enforcement, intelligence, and military investigators. Private investigators are subject to no such controls. They can pursue private vendettas on behalf of private clients.
Private investigators are often hired by attorneys to gather information for court cases and by insurance companies to investigate claims prior to settlement. A private investigator gathers details about a person or property of interest and provides reports and documentation of these details to the client.
Private investigators are commonly hired to research and investigate disputes, manage personal injury cases, or intercept drug operations. Private investigators are routinely engaged in domestic cases; service of process and subpoenas; working undercover (such as in a corporate environment); and providing assistance in criminal defense cases including juror profiling and trial preparation. Although a resourceful investigator can provide services unknown and unlearned to the commoner, new technologies such as GPS [FN1 ]allow not only a professional to conduct surveillance, but anyone with the means (and a little practice) can determine the whereabouts of any individual at any given time.
Private investigators are trained to perform physical surveillance and computer database searches that enable them to obtain the required information on any subject. The career demands that you work very closely with the police and the law.
With the advent and proliferation of dating sites and other new means of communication such as message boards and social networking sites, many cheaters are slinking onto the net to find a hot new flame. They are followed closely behind by the private investigation agencies hired by suspicious spouses and lovers to find the truth. With technology developing at the speed it does and all the many types of audio and visual bugs being openly available, people need to rest assured that their private conversations are kept that way.
Legal investigators may also collect information on the parties to the litigation, take photographs, testify in court, and assemble evidence and reports for trials. This general overview was taken for the Department of Labor’s collection of job descriptions. Legal investigators often work for law firms, where they assist in locating witnesses, serving legal documents and gathering evidence. A corporate private investigator performs internal or external investigations, some related to drug use or theft.
