SpyGearCo: Spy and Surveillance

Many Spy Cams today allow you to view surveillance video on your TV or record on your DVR or an older VCR but there are little know ways to actually watch your spy camera over the Internet that are good and won’t cost you a lot of money.

Here we talk about one method that will allow you to watch your covert surveillance video and audio over the Internet and will work with any spy cam or hidden camera out there. The downside to this method is that you can only watch one spy cam per PC and will not be able to create scheduled recordings of your video surveillance.

Step #1: Use the USB USB Video Adapter for PC also called the DVD Maker which plugs into your PC or Laptop’s USB port for easy installation. The following diagram show how connections are made to the USB adapter. You connect the wireless receiver RCA jacks from your spy camera to the inputs of the USB adapter through supplied RCA jacks. With the PVR Plus software supplied you have a function that allows you to take video snapshots for one spy camera only. We recommend the Mini Wireless Color Spy Cam that was used for testing this method but it should work with any spy camera or hidden camera.

Step #2

When you are at another computer you can remote into your PC at home and view your spy camera by using Windows feature called Terminal Services. With most widely used Windows PC operating systems like XP Pro, this is a standard application. This can be done by logging into your PC from Windows XP Pro “Remote Desktop Configuration”. Once you are logged in remotely to the PC that the USB Video Adapter for PC is connected to you will be able to see the video on your spy cam from any Internet browser from any remote location.

This presents an easy way to watch the video from your spy cam remotely. In future articles, we will describe other methods to allow you to watch your hidden camera or spy camera over the Internet.
