Sexting: Is Your Teen Is Doing It?
Sexting is a new term that combines texting and sending sexually explicit photos. As previously mentioned, teens do not always think through how their actions lead to consequences. Sexting is really fun. Sexting is not new, but it is on the rise. Cases are bubbling up all over the country and even in other countries.
Specifically, sexting involves sending lewd text or pictures electronically to someone over a mobile phone or computer. Sexting often starts with a teenage girl sending a nude or semi-nude picture of herself to a boyfriend. Sexting has taken a great idea and turned it into a bad one.
Sexting can best be defined as sending naked photos of yourself using your mobile phone to another phone or a social networking site. Specifically for those who may not know better (like teens) and those who will not do better (like spurned adults) sexing is growing every day.
The unwanted consequences of sexting in the wrong hands far outweigh the momentary high of pleasing yourself and your partner.
Sexting is a variation of message texting and teens are abusing message sending by crossing the line into sexting. Texting is an optional feature a parent can disable through the cell phone carrier.
Sexting is a consequence of advances in technology enabling new forms of social interaction. Messages with sexual content have been exchanged over all forms of historical media. Sexting has become ubiquitous, and those kids need one hell of a wake-up call. Sexing is like sending porn and if caught and charged will shake both teen and parent and make them understand that sexting can come to bite both in the ass when the authorities find out.
Bottom line, Sexting is to risky and anyway, who wants to risk being caught sexting and publicly released! Sexting has been linked to severe embarrassment when photos are passed to people other than the intended recipient, even contributing to the suicide of the sexting initiator. Sexting is mostly used when a person sends a nude picture of themselves to someone else. Students have been arrested for sexting and are facing criminal charges such as child pornography.
Jesse Logan sent nude pictures of herself to a boyfriend. When they broke up, he sent them to hundreds of other students. Jesse was the victim of a disturbing trend that is making it’s way through high school hallways. It is called sexting, or sending nude photos via cell phone.
Jesse went to the funeral. She is the latest victim of Sexting. When she came home, she hanged herself. Jessica’s business is her own and for the girls to get involved was the worst mistake they ever made. I cant even begin to imagine the pain that she must have went through to make her do it. Jessie took a shower before getting ready. Her dad was home. Jesse can finally rest. The blame should really goes to the parent when a child is at fault.
Parents need to keep a close eye on what their children are accessing and sending through their phones. Don’t be afraid to block websites and disable text messaging from your kids phone, it will save them and you from huge embarrassment. Parents need to wise up and be PARENTS. Parent or not, I do not think children should have one unless they can pay for it.
Parents need to keep a close eye on their children – teenage and younger, who are using the Internet and have cell phones. Communication is key to keeping them safe and educating them on the dangers of the Internet, texting, and using your cell phone for taking inappropriate pictures.
Parents are content to let everyone raise our children. I have children and the two most important lessons I learned were “If you let others teach your children then its other people’s values they are learning” and ” If you have a child that is out of control when they’re toddlers then they will be the same in ten years”.
Kids nowadays are doing things that they shouldn’t be. Not the sexual things but still there are things I’m doing that I would never want to find out my two younger sisters are doing. Kids shouldn’t be in a prison population, a suspension from class ought to be punishment enough. This kind of idiot-speak (as exemplified by Ashleigh) is the ultimate stupid end of parents not taking responsibility for their own children. Kids have fun and don’t take that innocence away from them. Don’t make them ashamed of their bodies as my parents brought me up to be.
