Liam Neeson stars in the action thriller TAKEN set for release on January 30, 2009. A fast -paced thriller set in Paris where a former CIA operative (calls himself a “Preventer”) goes looking for his kidnapped daughter. When his estranged daughter is kidnapped in Paris, a former spy (Neeson) sets out to find her at any cost.

Bryan (Liam Neeson) manages to follow the car his daughter is being taken in to see her being taken away on a yacht. He jumps on to the ship from a bridge and eliminates all the people inside, finally killing the client and freeing his daughter. Bryan’s worst fears are realized when Kim and her friend Amanda are suddenly abducted  in broad daylight from the Paris apartment at which they’ve just arrived. Moments before Kim is dragged away by the as yet unseen and unknown assailants, she manages to phone Bryan, who begins to expertly piece together clues that will take him to the darkness of Paris’s underworld, and to the City of Light’s plushest mansions. Bryan is determined to rethink his life and priorities until Kimmie rejects his advice and heads to Paris for a vacation with her blond best friend. Here Pierre Morel’s movie breaks up into an action-horror-thriller mash.

Bryan’s skill and quick-thinking are demonstrated when he agrees to escort pop diva Sheerah (Holly Valance); the diva is attacked, but Bryan efficiently disables a knife-wielding assailant and gets her safely out of danger. Thankful, Sheerah expresses some interest in Bryan’s daughter and furnishes him with contacts to get Kim’s career started. Bryan immediately springs into action, using his well-honed CIA skills to piece together clues from a single, frantic phone call he received from Kim. He hops a plane to Paris, determined to rescue his daughter before she falls off the grid completely.

Bryan is a rugged, take-no-prisoners dude who suffers from serious parent guilt. His long absences during his spying days cost him his marriage to Lenore (Famke Janssen) and his relationship with his daughter, Kim (Maggie Grace), who just turned 17. Bryan’s government work kept him away from Kim for much of her childhood, and he’s now trying to make up for lost time. When Kim announces that she’s taking a trip to Paris with her friend Amanda (Katie Cassidy), Bryan is apprehensive about her traveling on her own. Bryan, who was already wary of her going to Paris, receives a phone call from his daughter as she is being kidnapped. From this point on it’s badass Liam Neeson all the way.

Kidnapped victims are usually mistreated in the initial stage of confrontation to bring them under control quickly. Verbal abuses and death threats are also given. Kidnapping is a serious crime, and we’re all hoping for his safe release. Authorities are working on the case, and the family is doing what they can to negotiate with the abductors, apparently a group of armed men who jumped out of an SUV while Batista was taking a phone call. Kidnapping is a very real threat, wherever you may be in the world or whatever city you may live in. It’s not just a problem in third world or politically unstable countries.

Law enforcement has huge responsibilities when a child is missing. They have to investigate numerous things.
